Introduction to Coffee

Walking into a coffee shop or even the coffee aisle at the grocery store can be an breathtaking experience. There's a lot to pick from, which is a good thing, but can also be bad a thing when you don't know what you want to drink. There's been times where I'd just pick something a random. However, most often, I'd pick the same thing over and over. It can become boring very quickly.

A good way to make it less confusing is to know what the basics of coffee are. It'll make it a lot easier to pick out that much needed caffeine boost next time.

Coffee

Coffee - A brewed beverage from roasted seeds from coffee plants. The roasted seeds are what are more generally called coffee beans. If you haven't already noticed, it has a stimulating corollary on humans. It's one of the most favorite beverages in the United States.

Cafe Mocha - Is a type of Latte, created with one third espresso, two thirds steamed milk and mixed with some kind of chocolate. It's my personal favorite and a good beginning point if you're looking for something sweet and full of caffeine.

Cappuccino - Is a drink that originated in Italy. It's created with espresso, hot milk and steamed milk foam.

Espresso - Is a concentrated coffee beverage, brewed by forcing hot water under pressure, straight through finely ground coffee. It's thicker than regular coffee and used to make other drinks like cappuccinos, lattes and more. Please note, expresso isn't the strict spelling.

Latte - Is a coffee drink made with hot milk. If you assess it to a cappuccino, it will have more steam and texture.
